FAQ

Questions we get every week

Do you list prices online?

No. Price depends on the vehicle, the film level and the coverage. Send us the year, make and model and what you want, and we will give you a straight quote.

Do you tint boats?

Yes. We do marine window tint for boat and yacht cabin, salon, hatch and portlight windows, often at the marina or dock. See the marine tint page for details.

What areas do you serve?

Palm Coast, Flagler Beach, Bunnell, Ormond Beach, St. Augustine Beach and Daytona Beach.

Which tint brands do you use?

We install quality carbon, nano-ceramic and IR ceramic films and will show you samples and the warranty for the film we recommend at your appointment.

Can you remove old tint?

Yes. Old purple or bubbling tint can be removed, including the adhesive, before new film goes on. Rear defroster glass takes extra care.

Is your tint legal in Florida?

We install to Florida's limits: 28% front sides, 15% rear on cars and 6% behind the driver on SUVs, trucks and vans.

Do you do home or office windows?

Not under Flagler Tint. Our sister company Solar Sentinel handles residential and commercial window film.

How long does each service take?

Most tint jobs are a few hours. PPF and ceramic coating are longer because of paint prep and cure time. We will give you a time estimate with your quote.

What tint percentage is legal in Florida?

On a car or sedan, the front side windows must let in at least 28% of visible light and the back side and rear glass at least 15%. On SUVs, trucks and vans, windows behind the driver can go to 6%. The windshield can only have non-reflective tint above the AS-1 line. See our Florida tint law page for the statute text.

Will ceramic tint interfere with my phone or GPS?

No. Ceramic and carbon films contain no metal, so cell signal, GPS, keyless entry and toll transponders work the same as before.

How long before I can roll the windows down?

Give it three to five days. Florida heat actually helps the film cure faster. Small haze or water pockets are normal for the first few days and clear on their own.

Is PPF noticeable?

Good clear film on a well-prepped panel is hard to spot from a few feet away. Up close you may see an edge on partial coverage, which is why many people choose a full front.

How long does paint protection film last?

Quality urethane film is typically warrantied for years by its manufacturer when cared for properly. We will go over the specific warranty for the film we install on your car.

Can PPF go on a used car?

Yes, but the paint should be corrected first. Film locks in whatever is underneath it, swirls included.

Does ceramic coating replace wax?

Yes. A coating lasts far longer than wax and gives a harder, slicker surface. You will still wash the car, just with less effort.

Does a coating stop rock chips?

No. A coating is thin and hard; it resists etching and makes cleaning easy, but it will not stop impact. That is what PPF is for.

Can you coat over PPF and tint?

We commonly coat over PPF. Coating the paint, wheels and glass together is a popular package.
